StartX Med Innovation Challenge is a 50 hour weekend event offering hands-on education in healthcare entrepreneurship through talented, multi-disciplinary teams. During this weekend, participants will pitch ideas, form teams, develop product ideas and business plans, create prototypes, and present a final pitch to a panel of judges. All teams will receive advising and feedback on their ideas from industry leaders, expand their networks, and potentially find co-founders for their startups. Winners from the Innovation challenge will become finalists for StartX Med, a nonprofit startup accelerator, and receive special mentor-ship from StartX Med and Stanford Hospital.

QB3 Bridging-the-Gap Award Deadline Approaching
Application Deadline: Friday, October 19th, 2012
Awards are for $100,000 per year, and will begin in early 2013. An
additional $25,000 award will be made to groups who achieve their
proposed goals within the year. A second year of funding is available
based on progress. Apply here.
The committee looks for projects that are at a stage where early
proof-of-concept experiments funded by the award will assist the group
in lowering the technical risk for a given technology. It is hoped that
these groups could form a startup company within a 1-3 year period. The applications that best fit the goals of this award will be
selected by a QB3 committee, and these finalists will give an oral
presentation to the Awards Committee, who will make a final decision.
